What we do
We distribute international feature films and TV-Series for German Speaking Europe. We do theatrical releases, DVD/Blu-ray, TV-sales and Video on Demand. We have also co-produced our first movie recently.
Our favourite movie-releases are on the edge between arthouse and mainstream, like the Cannes-Winning Tommy Lee Jones Movie “The three burials of Melchiades Estrada” or the Oscar-nominated french war-drama “Days of glory”, but we also release commercial genre movies, comedies, horror, thiller and war movies. Our latest theatrical release was the Oscar-nominated “The Visitor” by Tom McCarthy.
Our movies are released under the label “Pandastorm Pictures”, for our TV-on-DVD releases we have the sub-label “Pandavision”. Our favourite TV-on-DVD release is “Da Ali G Show”, we further release e.g. crime series, sci-fi-series and have also german series targeted at 40+ audiences.
We are an “independent”, thinking commercial with an attitude.
We are a bunch of former film-school/media-school attendees and our company evolved out of a shortfilm-student-project. We like to think big but stay small and flexible as a company, because we want to keep our freedom and maintain unusual in some ways;)
Industry: Media
Things to communicate through the design
1. Big, classy entertainment, but a small, cool company
2. Quality cinema (The logo will also be used in an animated version at the beginning of our theatrical movies (like Warner Bros., Miramax etc.))
3. Young, wild and unusual
The target audience
- Focus is on BTC (People who see our films in cinemas and buy our movies and TV-Series on DVD, among them cineasts, film buffs, genre-fans), but it`s of course also used for BTB (international world sales companies, film producers, TV-stations, Home Video-Retailers etc)
- The total target group of all our releases would be male and female, 6-65 years old, but the focus is on males aged 20-39
We like these fonts, colors and style
In general we`re open to any ideas that come to your mind. Still some thoughts we would like to share with you:
- The “Pandastorm” in our company name is a combination of two contradicting words: panda and storm forming a new, absurd word.
The logo could reflect the absurd/subversive humor of our company name.
- Don`t get us wrong, we like pandabears but we`re not the World Wildlife Fund. If you use a panda (abstract or photorealistic) as part of the logo it should have some twist to it.
- A logo animation will be created (based on the logo) that will be playing in cinemas before our films. - It should work nicely on a dark background and stick out
- some kind of an icon would be nice that could be used for example on the back of a DVD Cover. It could be part of the logo or an element extracted from the logo as an icon.
- There should be a monocrome version of the logo (black on white and reverse) as well
- let your imagination go wild
