What we do
IICS is one of the oldest international schools in the world, established in 1911. It provides international education to foreign students in Istanbul age 3-18. Students must hold a non-Turkish passport in order to be enrolled.

2. International. (we are erroneously thought of as the American school, so reflecting International is important)

The target audience
• Expats (usually top tier managers at multinational firms and consulate employees) who are moving to Istanbul and are transferring their children from one international school to another. In their search for a new school they are usually looking for signs that represents consistency with top international Schools in Europe/worldwide.
• Expats who are looking for the highest level of education for their children in Istanbul (may be transferring from another school in Istanbul).
We like these fonts, colors and style
We are looking for a Combination Mark. IICS is the abbreviation for our school, Istanbul International Community School. If the abbreviation is used in the Combination Mark, the full name should also be stylized to the able to use the logo and full name together.
Our current logo is too fussy and doesn't work well in many applications.
COLORS: Our competitors use blue and red, so we would like to avoid blue and red.
we are seeking a strong logo that communicates the school as “The” international school of Istanbul, equivalent to the top International schools in Europe/worldwide. The school name and logo should reflect a high quality image of the school.
We DO NOT prefer the following elements in the logo:
• lettering wrapped around a round logo (barely legible in most applications)
• flags (not enough room to represent the 50 nationalities at our school)
• children (too facile)
• globes (unless you can stylize one that replicates well across all applications)

we prefer that there is NOTHING Turkish or Islamic or Middle Eastern in the design elements. because we are an INTERNATIONAL school, we are looking for symbols and metaphors of internationalism, please.
