What we do
This is the leading review blog for comfortable shoes for women. Kirsten and her writers help women, who more often than not have problems with their feet, find the most fashionable and comfortable shoes.
Industry: Retail
Things to communicate through the design
1. welcoming
2. sit and drink coffee and read about shoes
3. empathetic, for women with foot problems wanting to find comfortable shoes
The target audience
Women, ages 25-64, who are looking for comfortable shoes. Not a site to find 4" heels, rather this site helps working women find great shoes for their commute, active women find shoes for their hiking, biking, walking, etc. These are most likely college educated women, spending $100 or more on a pair of shoes. Highest visitor volume is from NYC not surprisingly.
We like these fonts, colors and style
We like Raleway as a font, and others like it. Our color combo would be coral and navy blue as an accent. Or coral and black.
We may be open to seeing some sort of caricature of a woman's shoe as part of the logo...but this is not a must-have.
The main thing to consider is that the name of the company, BarkingDogShoes, is a little cutsie way of describing feet that hurt. But for some, it is confusing, thinking that this site is about shoes for dogs. So we have to be sure to not convey that message whatsoever.
