Roman & Fields Logo Design Contest
Name On Logo: Roman & Fields
Our Slogan

What we do
This is a bespoke, custom-made couture tie company, similar to Hermes or Ferragamo. We will be making ties in the U.S. of 100% Italian fabric and vintage fabric, for very high end customers, such as investment bankers.

The logo will be used for clothing labels as well as web and print

The graphical element should be:
1) Action-oriented
2) Showing or implying motion
3) Contain people, machines, or animals
4) Be able to stand alone to represent the brand. When people see the graphical element it should instantly put the brand in their mind. Think of something like the twitter bird, the Hermes cart, etc.
5) Be unique
6) Be oriented horizontally over the text, and take up more horizontal space than vertical space
7) Somewhat abstract and unrelated
8) Something in solid colors, no gradients

I do NOT want:
A) Initials
B) Something that denotes Rome, Romans, etc. (too obvious)
C) Something static, like a non-moving car or train, a mountain, a face (boring)
D) Horses (too similar to polo)
E) Anything suggesting a tie or clothing (too cute, and you wouldn't see this on a professional high-end tie)
Industry: Retail

Things to communicate through the design
1. Elegant
2. Masculine
3. Custom Tailoring

The target audience
The target audience is similar to customers that shop for Ferragamo or Hermes ties - wealthy and high-end.

We like these fonts, colors and style
Should be displayable in any color. Probably a subtle serif font. I would also like some type of crest or drawing above or to the side of the words, similar to some of the examples below. Also, there should be a horizontal line, followed by the words "New York" underneath the main logo.

I like the logos for:
-Hermes (with the drawing of the horse and carriage included)
-Gieves & Hawkes
-Lanvin (with the drawing)

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)  (Billboards & Signs)

To all designers:

I've extended the contest for another five days. The font element, let's fix at something in the style of #52. A lot of designers have a font similar, but the spacing in between the letters is wrong.

8) Something in solid colors, no gradients

C) Something static, like a non-moving car or train, a mountain, a face (boring)
