The target audience
I don't have an audience for my blog. It will be just friends and family, but I want a clean and professional design.
Since my interests include programming and I discuss aspects of my work for the Federal Aviation Administration there, the audience could include co-workers and other colleagues.
The logo doesn't have to sell anything though. It should just be professional and tasteful. I think the name shows a sense of humor also, which will be in contrast to most of the content. :)

It is a blog of the type I am trying for, but I don't expect a large audience. I do want the simple, clean design. My site is currently here
[Login to view URL] That is the default style sheet. I will design or hire someone to style the site after the logo is done. I want to start with the logo, but will probably maintain a white or light colored background. I have not decided on other colors at this time.
The inspiration for the name of my site is from a description I read for Dragon Ball Z, for anyone familiar with that show. I am a fan, and liked the idea of that over-the-top power.
As for how that translates to the web-site; it will not literally. It's just the idea, or suggestion of something powerful and interesting. The actual site content is going to often be boring and related to programming. I don't want a literal connection to programming or aviation; I want something more abstract, like a starburst or some other pattern that could suggest power or even anime.
I'm not a designer, and really want the inspiration someone else might bring to the idea.
The design could be monochromatic or colorful. Simple is preferred to something very busy. Even though the inspiration for the name was from a cartoon, I'm thinking in terms of a professional appearance, not cartoonish.
The logo will be used as a web banner or heading for this one site only.
