We do vehicle wraps/graphics. From full printed graphics to vehicle re-colors.
BlackFire Wraps is a subsidiary of our main graphic business, and the sub-company was created to have a different brand/look/website to appeal to the 18-27 year old crowd who invest heavily in modifying their cars - sound systems, exhaust, and of course, vehicle wraps and graphics. The logo should pop, have energy, and be eye catching to the younger crowd investing in their cars. In addition, we do business vehicle wrapping, so the logo should not be so over the top "hip" that another business would not take us seriously.
Our current logo for our main company is attached for reference. I'd like the logo to feel like it's in the same family. Not just a copy and reworking, but like they were similar. One way to tie it in is I'd like to see some designs (but not all) that include a salamander (mythological salamaders were creatures of fire, often depicted as being on fire, demons, etc) curled in a similar shape as the shark in our logo, similar to this:

But obviously looking MUCH nicer (and very likely just silhouetted - not that much detail. Maybe mottled two color red/black as well)

Main colors would be red (or orange) and black. Possibly some grays. Gradients and other colors (oranges/yellows) would be ok, especially if there were flames in the design. The company is BlackFire Wraps, but the flames don't necessarily have to be black/gray - I'm open to all artistic ideas.
Fonts: Surprise me. I'd like the main wording in the logo to be based off a font that is delivered with the logo so I can type up more text to match.
The "Slogan": I included "Custom Vehicle Graphics" as a slogan, but I'd like that text, if you include it, to be removable, so that on some print items it's there, and in others it might just be the company name. If your logo includes the slogan, just make sure it's not integral to the design. We do most of our design work in Illustrator. We're quite comfortable with reworking vector images.
Absolute must is vector format. This will be used on business cards, as well as the hood of a Camaro. It needs to be resizable.
Also, this may be printed on a light background, as well as a dark one. The vehicle it's going on first will be a black cracked lava rock pattern, so parts of the logo will be on top of a black background, so it'd be great if the logo had a halo around the dark areas that could be removed if need be so it's visible on both light and dark backgrounds.
Also - clean and sharp. No "grunge" fonts that are jagged or impossible to cut out. We do cut vinyl signage as well and if we do a decal/image to be placed on a window, grunge effects do not translate well.
