What we do
I made a Jing video for you guys that gives you most of what you need to know. Link is at the "style and concept" sections.
My website will be a place for women with PCOS to find inspiration, motivation, information and friends. it will also be funny and a little quirky, like me. Most PCOS support website are soft pink/lavender and the attitude is kind of downtrodden, and many visitors to those sites are desperate to get pregnant. I get the feeling that women are looking at this website during bouts of sobbing. This will be more upbeat, funky, creative, and empowering.

Things to communicate through the design
1. Fun, up-beat. we don't have to be dour and sad
2. This site is different (not woe-is me, this is hard) than your average PCOS support site.
3. We can make our lives awesome!
The target audience
Recently diagnosed women with PCOS, between the ages of 18-30s who have a little bit more of a "edgy" attitude. Probably liberals. Maybe they're vegans, lesbians, artists, just women who live an "alternative lifestyle" and are a little turned off by the soft-pink sites I described above. They are usually pretty freaked out to learn that their body is not healthy and don't know what to eat or to do to get healthy. They are generally relieved to have a diagnosis after spending years dealing with the symptoms and getting ignored by Drs.

I don't like "corporate swooshes" or "nike swooshes". I like art deco and bold colors. No soft "girly" pinks or lavenders. Pretty much nothing you would find in a typical baby blanket.
