Best Web Sites Logo Design Contest
Name On Logo: Best Web Sites
Our Slogan
The DotNetNuke Experts
What we do
Best Web Sites is a web design and development company specializing in creating websites and modules (plugins) for the DotNetNuke content management system (http://www.dotnetnuke.com).
Industry: Technology

Things to communicate through the design
1. Style
2. Design
3. Professionalism

The target audience
Our website is targeted at people who have their own website created with DotNetNuke.

We like these fonts, colors and style
The logo should contain two parts: the text and the icon:

Text:
Must say "Best Web Sites"
The tagline/subheading must say "The DotNetNuke Experts"

- Web 2.0 style.
- No gradients, no shadows.
- Rounded edges, including the ends of the letters.
- Muted colors.
- Fat letters.
- All letters the same size.
- Maybe one word bolder than the others.
- Some letters can be styled differently from the others.

It is very important that the text has a stylized web2.0 style.
This is just a guide, if you have something good that is different from what we've listed, feel free to submit it.

For the icon:
We have never had a icon style logo, so I do not know what will work best. No spider webs. No completely abstract swirls, swooshes, twists, etc. We make modules for DotNetNuke, so something that looks modular, or connects together might be good.

The logo should have:
- Web 2.0 style
- Fat lines

The icon can not be derived from the DotNetNuke logo, that is copyrighted.

This is an example of a contest for software modules - but we do not like any of the logos, so use these as examples of what not to do: [Login to view URL]

Logo colors:
- Currently the website has a blue background behind the existing text logo. This will be removed and replaced with a white background. So design the logo to fit a white background.
- Colors should work with our current website palette.

Our design will be used on
(Web)  (Print Media)

Additional Info Added Mar 26, 2010
Our website is at [Login to view URL] This is where the new logo will be used.

Please note the most important feature we will be judging on is the graphical icon part, not the text part of the logo.

In answer to some questions received:

- Yes it can have a background color, it does not have to be a white or transparent background
- Yes it can have some kind of box/circle/shape or other effect around the logo

So far we have not really seen anyone come up with the type of logo we want: We really want a logo with a *very strong web 2.0 style*

For example: Please look at the #1 logo in all of these contests. That is what we want in a logo.
