What we do
Our organization, Philanthropic Service for Institutions...provides philanthropic support in the form of council, advice, training, and other services for Seventh-day Adventist hospitals, colleges, secondary schools, and ministries. Every three years we host a training conference for these organizations. In 2014 we will host our next conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

The theme, "Where Tradition and Transformation Converge" was used by another organization in Baltimore a few years ago...and we really liked it. That conference had nothing to do with philanthropy. We are not married to the exact verbiage, but love the concept because...

(1.) Baltimore is wonderfully historic and modern city.

(2.) Philanthropy is thriving at some institutions within the city (like Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital which are not only historically significant, but powerhouses in their respective fields.) with instituions using traditional fundraising methods with newer fundraising innitiatives.

(3.) Convergence of for/nonprofit partnerships, as well as philanthropy technology (social media) with established philanthropic practices (direct mail, capital campaigns, etc).

AGAIN...you do not have to use the slogan / tagline if you can tie in philanthropy, training, tradition and transformative concepts.

Not married to any particular colors or styles. Have attached the image for the logo chosen for the 2011 conference logo winner. ( Indianapolis is known as the crossroads of America...and we were focusing on the theme of people from all over the world coming to a crossroads for education...so we went with it.)
