What we do
This is a website that organizes manufacturing shops to the public. We help businesses or individuals who have a need for some type of manufacturing process to get into touch with the shops according to their preferences.
This contest is not for logos, but for icons to be used on this web site.

The way the web site will work is by clicking on icons on the home page that describe the process they are looking for. It should work and look like
[Login to view URL] We are in need of our own icons and we currently have seven categories.
1. MACHINING
Typically described as work done by mills and lathes. Maybe the most iconic symbol for this is an end mill cutting a block of metal, or perhaps just the machine itself.
2. FABRICATION
This is work completed by welders, grinding, and torches. Probably the most iconic symbol for this is welding
3. METAL CUTING
This work is completed by CNC plasma cutters, CNC laser cutters, or CNC water jet cutters. Either laser or plasma cutting should probably be the icon.
4. SHEET METAL
This work is completed mostly by brakes and punches. A brake is probably the most iconic tool for sheet metal work.
5. GRINDING
This work is completed by surface grinders or lathe oriented grinders and even centerless grinders. This is highly precision work, the most precise out of all the categories listed.
6. METAL SUPPLY
This is pretty self explanatory, this is who to contact to purchase metal.
7. AUTOMOTIVE
People looking for machine work done to their engines is what is category is for. A bare long block or bare heads should be the icon here.
We would like all 7 icons designed and change overall in color when the user hovers the mouse over said icon, so a "negative" of each icon is required as well. We are not partial to the use or little color nor many colors, but in either case the theme must be consistent for all 7 icons and easily expanded upon later. The icons should be square, edge shape is up to you (rounded or sharp). The last requirement is that all the icons are easily identifiable to their field (this means not overly complex designs, just be straight to the point). PLEASE PUT NO WORDS IN THE ICONS.
