We are a cocktail lounge in lower downtown Denver that is rebranding itself as a more casual Dive Bar type of experience with an upscale / hip twist.

The target audience
Nightlife patrons, generally ranging from 21-35. Should appeal both to men (rugged/old fashioned) and women (hip, fun, silly)
We like these fonts, colors and style
Very simple design requirements. The name is "D.I.V.E." - which will be an acronym. Once open, there will be a contest to determine the 10 best acronym's for the name (one example: "Divine Imbibing Venue Extraordinaire", another "Drunken Idiots - Very Entertaining", etc)
The logo will be in blank and white and needs to work in both black on white and white on black. Grey scale / Shading is fine, but no colors needed.
We want to get across that we are a new / hip type of DIVE bar. The part of town we are in (Lower Downtown) is trendy and has no Dive Bars, so this logo needs to not take itself too seriously. We aren't a true dive bar (dirty, old, run down, etc), but more of a 2010 version.
We're not really expecting the use of any graphics / icons in the logo (just "D.I.V.E.") but I'm not opposed to it if you want to give it a try.
Once the 1st round of logos are up, we'll give feedback and direction from there.
