Name On Logo: Gooseberry Creek Gardens
Our Slogan
Beautiful Gardens Begin Here
What we do
We sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, mulch, soil, and other supplies for gardeners. These items are sold through our multiple retail locations in central Indiana.
Industry: Home & Garden
Things to communicate through the design
1. Healthy, Beautiful Plants
2. Trustworthy and Knowledgeable
3. Friendly and Fun
The target audience
As for demographics, the age range is 30 to 65 and 90% are women with most of them residing in central Indiana. This group has varied household incomes and occupations are from stay-at-home mothers to educators (Elementary, Secondary and College) to corporate executives. (We also see a lot of retirees.) Many of our customers love gardening and desire superior plant materials. Additionally, many of them subscribe to multiple gardening magazines and some enroll in Master Gardening classes and attend garden shows. Overall, this group is very loyal to us and passionate about gardening. We often hear them say it's therapeutic to "play in the dirt" and routinely they report they would spend their last $5 on flowers instead of eating!
We like these fonts, colors and style
We have a few ideas but are also open to your interpretations. Here are a couple links for ideas for a possible style:

There is plenty to look at for design and color ideas. As mentioned above, we would love to see your interpretations of our name and image. After all, you're the experts. We would like to see some concepts using a pink and purple theme, too. These are the most popular colors for flowers we sell.
We'd like to see the tagline incorporated into some of the designs, but not all.
Additionally, gooseberry.com is taken by a lodging company and gooseberrygardens.com is taken by a blogger in Arizona and doesn't appear to blog regularly. To avoid our customers and prospects from going to those websites, what do you think about a creek being very evident in the design so customers may think gooseberrycreekgardens.com and avoid confusion with the other websites? We don't want to see a creek in every design, just curious about your thoughts.
Font selection is open with, however, we don't like the Victorian script fonts. Also, this logo will be used across a wide variety of advertising and branding opportunities.
Lastly, at the conclusion of the logo contest, we are requesting the logo be submitted to us in a true black and white format for Trademark submission along with the other formats which are standard. It must be black and white and not gray scale. Thank you in advance for your efforts. We know how hard you work on these designs. If you have any questions, we will be checking this website daily.
Good Luck and Our Best,
Scott and Julie Johnson
