readers of cozy mysteries (probably mostly women, but we do not want to antagonize male readers)

Logo must include a cozy cat which will be our mascot. Prefer cat lying down but sitting or standing is possible if cat looks cozy. Logo may include a book (cat could be reading book--or not). We prefer fun, fanciful fonts, but not so feminine that it would drive away potential male readers and not so curlicued that it is hard to read. Cat should be simple, maybe line drawing. We would like to be able to remove the text from the logo so we could use the cat by itself on our website banner. Preferred colors--bright, light (reds, blues, greens, blacks, yellows, pinks, white)--nothing heavy or earthy like grey, brown, or orange. We have ideas of our own but we welcome your creativity and are open to your suggestions.

To all designers,
We are extremely pleased with the varied designs we are receiving. We have probably let color variety in your designs get out of hand because we mentioned a variety of colors that we like. We only listed these specific colors to indicate which colors we like, not to suggest that you need to try to incorporate all of these colors into one design. Our logo needs to be simple and should probably contain a maximum of two colors--one color is fine.


To all designers (particularly our top five):
We just want to thank you whole-heartedly for all your efforts and magnificent responsiveness during our logo contest for Cozy Cat Press. Your incredibly creative designs have made the decision process extremely difficult. We have finally made our selection, but we just want you all to know how much we love all of the designs (particularly the top five). Thank you again!
