What we do
We are a community of believers in Jesus (a Christian church), who are on a journey of obedience to Him. We want to see our communities impacted by the Gospel and God at work in our lives.
Industry: Non-Profit
Things to communicate through the design
1. Movement
2. Diversity
3. Urban/Inner-city
The target audience
The target audience is the church itself (our members) as well as all we come into into contact with, work in partnership with, and those looking to join a church in the area or find out more about Jesus.
So basically anybody in the East End of London, of any age, gender, culture, class, ethnicity.
We like these fonts, colors and style
'Journey' (word & imagery) should be the focus of design. 'Church' can be less prominent.
• Formerly "Church For The City" so logo can pay homage (though not necessarily look similar at all) to CFTC logo (www.churchforthecity.org.uk). CFTC logo based on London Underground/Subway network. This theme (the underground/travel/subway) fits well with new name, 'Journey Church'.
• The name reflects our own journey as a church plant (which is ongoing); the city around us (some people always moving; some never moving at all - but all on journey); as well as the journey of seeking to follow Jesus/be his disciple - which is ultimately & primarily what we are about.
• Looking for a fresh & bold logo. NO CROSSES or other religious symbols!!!
• Design should NOT look slick & corporate. Think urban/inner-city, NOT 'City of London business district'.
• We're looking for something that does NOT look refined & fine-polished, but has an edge & rawness to it... which is how the inner city area where we are based, as well as our members, look and feel.
• We like broken/textured fonts... a lot! (we are made up of broken people, being mended by the Gospel). Cheesy, but true!
• Open to being surprised by designer completely ignoring the above & going left-field.
• We'd like a light (for black backgrounds) and dark (for white backgrounds) version of the logo.
Our design will be used on
(Web) (Print Media) (Billboards & Signs) (Television) (Mugs & Tshirts)

Please don't feel the logo needs to have prominent or elaborate "journey" imagery. It doesn't! It can be very subtle and simple. As long as it meets the brief (bold, textured/broken, etc)
