BioGPS is a website that serves the biological research community. There are ~25,000 genes in the human genome. BioGPS seeks to aggregate all the existing knowledge about those genes' function, especially how they impact human health and disease.

Relative to other online biological resources, there are a few distinguishing characteristics about BioGPS:

• We host data that shows where in the human body each gene is “expressed” (or active)


• We serve as a “hub” or a “marketplace” for all online resources about gene function


• We allow and encourage users to directly contribute to the community

BioGPS (http://biogps.gnf.org) has been public for ~2 years now, and currently receives ~170,000 page views per month. Your design will definitely be viewed by a lot of people! We will probably have more design work in the future, so we would definitely consider an ongoing relationship with a designer we like.

LogoMyWay is a crowdsourcing website with over 30,000 logo designers from all over the world, that compete to win design contests.
