This Logo Contest has been viewed 3108 times!
Company Name: Great Home or GREAT HOME
Our Slogan:  Not Available
What We Do: Offers menu driven services for a home seller to list their property. Currently I offer three listing packages, the copper package for 1% commission, the silver for 2% commission, and the gold package for 3% commission. So, the copper package is basically a discount brokerage service, with the gold including project management of any repairs. max advertising with video tours and floor plans, in newspapers and online, complete home staging (decorating) including furniture and accessories hosting of all open houses. On occasion I also work with Buyers.
Industry Type: Real Estate

Top Three Things to Communicate Through Our Logo Design:
#1 Sophistication or a high class image
#2 Something distinctive to complement my staging and accessorizing
#3 I want a homeowner to want my logo because it adds to showcasing their home.

Our Target Audience:
Home sellers - most likely 30-50 years old - most likely very high tech people involved in the Silicon Valley companies in software and hardware, possibly other sciences or the health care industry. Then again, we have older people leaving the valley to retire in other, less crowded communities.

We Like These Designs. (fonts, colors, style):

Really need help in this area. The color I do not care for is burgundy. Not enough energy in it. Typical high energy attention colors are red and yellow together like In-n-Out Burger, but maybe I can use either one of those in moderation.

I can go for design, but it must relate to something.

Our Design Will Be Used On:
Web,  Print Media,  Billboard & Sign,

Thank you everybody for your submittals. Again, I am looking for classy complex designs without initials. I like at least 3 colors. May I see a simpler design with a trendy background such as light gray and white diagonal stripes with the gray having a gradient color?

I do like the "G" in the word Great in a fancy or scripted font. I also like it with the remaining letters in a different font. I also like the word "Great" to be larger than the word Home. I want to stay away from initials. Make the logo classy and friendly. Use up to 3 colors, maybe a greyed turquoise, royal blue, Chinese red, with black or dark or medium gray and/or white accents. As for having a house or roof in the logo, it is not necessary if the logo conveys a feeling of a great thing. Thank you.

I want to thank all of you very creative artists for the diligence you had in creating beautiful logos. As you can see by my constant indecision, many of them are equally ranked in my mind. Even though your logo does not appear in the top 10, does not mean I will not choose it - I just can't fit all of them in the top 10. Thanks again.

Thank you for all the interesting designs. I can recognize the merit in each design. All of you are very creative.

Let's not do anymore logos with initials in them. I am not selling my initials and I am not known by my initials. This is a new company so any logo that validates a home in a logo is great. In other words, I would like it to look as though a home went through a review process and has been approved as a great home. Thank you.

I am a home stager and real estate agent. I go into homes and make them beautiful, a showcase. How can I communicate this art through a logo? I played with taking the side and a small amount of the mantle of a marble sculpted fireplace, reducing it to a black and white logo, or the fancy sculpted center of the fireplace, using it as a shelf for my company name. A sconce of some sort can be used or some piece of art from inside the home. Many of the logos I am getting are too severe, too contemporary. Again thank you all for your work.

May I also see designs without any homes that maybe have a shelf holding up the word Great Home with pieces of fancy greek designs underneath the shelf that look like the designs they have at the top of their columns? I would also like to see a different logo with a fancy placard above the company name. I am not looking for columns. Thank you for all your wonderful designs. I appreciate all the hard work.

#87 – May I see this in silver and a deep sky blue?
#134 – great design! I love the design elements in the roof symbol and the sun image around the logo. You do not have to stick to gold and black. You might try other energetic color combination. Thank you.
#51 – the message gets across with the elevated house so the design is solid. These colors do not work for this design. Experiment with other colors. I like that the two words are different colors and I like the various lighting designs. Not sure the rounded square designs offer enough complexity. Thank you.
#55 – Upon a flash look, the logo communicated something to me about a movie with the lettering of the word home. In other words, when quickly looking, I saw the letters movie instead of home. The design was solid, though, and very creative. It does not showcase the concept of a home that is great, but rather the name tied into the home-selling industry, so it doesn’t work for me.
#58 – very special design. It is soft and alluring. It comes across as two floating candles in a container in a spa. Hey, great spa design!
#69 – too simple. Not enough design elements.
#71 – too heavy of a design, more masculine than neutral
#73 – comes across as a biotechnology company here in silicon valley with the two shapes resembling double benzene ring.
#81 – nice high-tech design. What is the ball?
#89 – great concept! Very simple, communicates well.
#118 – good to see it in another color
#119 – good solid design. It is a subtle distinction, bit this design looks to represent a real estate developer more than a listing and staging agent.
#120 – great design, great slogan
#136 – great solid design work. May I see it in a couple other colors?
#142 – home profile comes across like a mountain top but I love the size of the letters in relation to each other and how they relate to the home. The initials, upon first glance, look like the C&H Sugar letters.

#57 – I like the design elements because they are compact and complex and easy to read. I would like to see how it looks in various colors not only the black and gold.
#74 – This captures the concept. It tells prospective buyers that this is a special home.
# 59 – Good design. The home in the middle would be lost for people driving by a real estate open house sign and it takes a good stare to make it out.
I’d also like to see some logos with symbols of greek architecture such as Corinthian or dorian pieces creating a symbol, could be a fancy shelf over or under the name, or incorporating something indicating wealth into a trendy logo. Try the whole spectrum of colors but the challenge is to make something like this high energy to stand out among the crowd.
I just want to thank all of you for your efforts.

#45 I ranked first because it has the classy image that would appeal to a home seller. It would look nice on a sign in front of their home as well as on business cards. I also like the partial circle in the logo. I liked that it is compact, and I liked that the two words were different colors.
#1 is creative but it is hard to tell quickly that the circle around the house is really a “G”. The sense I get from this logo is that I am promoting myself with a great design, rather than creating a bit of prestige for the home seller.
#2-4 is unique and fun to see but took me a while to notice that the letter for “h” was actually a roof. The black background promotes the red and green nicely but comes across giving the feeling of Christmastime, whereas the white did not offset the colors as well and just having the letters is not complex enough for me.
#5 did not evoke any emotion or interest, pretty commonplace.
#6-8 – The “G” came off as a large bouncing ball that I could not interpret as having anything to do with a great home. Too abstract for me.
#9 and 10 seemed like a tent with a leaky roof
#11 Is somewhat appealing but has too much black and what comes to mind is an oldsmobile hood ornament. It looks a little dated in design.
#12 and 13 – Although I can make out a “G”, it communicates an office building. The colors have energy but do not work for the image I am attempting to convey.
#18 and 19 – the home symbol is too high tech and the colors are fading and not high enough energy.
#20-25 are fun to see. They remind me of warm fires in the fireplace, Christmastimes, midnight swims in the moonlight, cabins in the woods. Too folksy for what I am looking for.
#28 – because the shape is so well identified, it seems like it is communicating that the house must resemble this type of house to be considered a great home. Maybe an inference to a house and someway to make it seem great?
#29 and 30 – do not say anything to me. Do not care for the colors.
#38 – a little too cute but the right idea with the checkmark , home and name of the company. Doesn’t show classy elements.
