We are a high-end residential design-build remodeling firm serving the immediate western suburbs of Washington, DC. We offer everything from an hourly handyman service to fixed price home additions and / or remodeling contracts which are designed by one of our professional architects or interior designers. The home additions and / or remodeling projects are typically fee based designs.

If possible, I would like “Design / Build Remodeling – Handyman Service” incorporated in to the logo. Additionally, I would like the winning contestant to provide the logo in the following file formats: EPS, .TIFF, .PNG, .PSD, .AL, .JPG, .GIF, and a FAVICON.

Our target audience is mainly middle-upper income to upper income people, typically 30-65 years of age and highly educated. They all have white collar occupations with many working in engineering fields, high levels of government, technology fields and as consultants for various industries. I suspect most were raised in white collar families and are not mechanically inclined.

We are not seeking clients who want the lowest price. We are seeking clients who can see the value in having a job done right by people they can trust with their home. We want to build long term relationships with our clients so next time they have a remodeling / handyman need we are the only ones they think of calling.

1. The logo needs to convey what we do! We are residential contractor and work on people's homes. We do not work on mid-rise buildings with flat roofs.
2. The logo needs to memorable and instantly recognizable. This is important for brand building.
3. We provide excellent craftsmanship. Tools that are often associated with good craftsmanship are the framing square, plumb bob and level.

As for colors I am partial to greens and blues. For instance, I often like them used in combination with a dark blue, next to a medium blue, next to a light blue. I may also be interested in burgundy type colors or a silver, gray and black combination. Thanks for reading.

6/8/12 Thank-you everybody for your submissions. I feel like I'm getting some good stuff. However, please no more blue / light blue submissions. I don't think this scheme works with what people have been submitting. Please stick with black and red. This will provide a baseline color to judge entries by. If I like your design I may ask you to change it.
