What we do
This is a live stage theatre that performs a full season of plays and musicals. It is situated in a re-purposed old firehall, built in 1913 (hence the name).
Industry: Entertainment
Things to communicate through the design
1. Live theatre
2. Cutting edge
3. Modern and contemporary
The target audience
Theatrical productions range from dramatic plays and comedies to musicals. The live theatre-going audience can be the sophisticated type of patron, or the senior citizen who goes to the matinees, or the gritty artsy types who like abstract or experimental theatre. Children will attend musicals with parents, but straight plays with mature content will attract a mature, intellectual crowd.
We like these fonts, colors and style
This is a modern, contemporary theatre that puts on plays and musicals. It is an up-and-coming theatre that is situated in an old firehall, but it is a theatre first. We would like designers to avoid literal representations of fire trucks and fire apparatus, and do not want an "old time" look, nor vaudeville nor carnival. We are looking for modern, sleek, and clean.
