Company Name: Effective MLS Market Solutions
Our Slogan:  n/a
What We Do: "Effective MLS Market Solutions" is not a company name, but a service name. Our company, Larson/Sobotka Business Advisors, LLC, is a consulting firm that advises real estate multiple listing services (MLSs - see detail below).
Industry Type: Real Estate

Top Three Things to Communicate Through Our Logo Design:
#1 Efficiency
#2 Working together
#3 Fresh approach

Our Target Audience:
MLSs are usually non-profit organizations owned by or operated on behalf of the real estate brokers in a market; they are usually led by paid professional staff, but have boards of directors made up of volunteers (usually real estate brokers).

MLSs are NOT real estate brokerage firms, but rather they provide information technology and data processing services to brokers.

The target audience members are:
(a) CEOs of real estate multiple listing services
(b) real estate brokers who are volunteer leaders on the boards of directors of MLSs

We like these designs. (fonts, colors, style):

EMMS is a project we are undertaking with some MLS clients to help them look for ways to collaborate with each other to provide better services to their broker customers. This project constitutes a new approach to this type of collaboration within the industry. This approach is driven more by data and business objectives than some previous ones.

We expect the design may focus on the acronym for the client companies "MLS".

As for fonts, color, style - they should look clean and modern.

We would like the logo to look good on a light-colored or black background (probably will appear on word proc'd docs and PowerPoint presentations more than anywhere else).

The design should suggest action and forward progress.

Don't include houses - MLSs are not real estate brokers.

Sorry for the short timeframe on this contest. We will try to check in very frequently to give and get feedback.

Our design will be used on:
Web,  Print Media,

Coming into the home stretch... We appreciate the new entries. Some thoughts:

We tried ranking, again. It's tough though, as all the top 9 have elements we like (and as you can see, we are not committed to any one concept...)

#33, #77, and #82 - could you stack the text along the left of the logo, like #69 does?

#82 - this is an interesting concept, but the color combination is not pleasing - could we see it with colors more like some of the other ranked entries?

I still have not ranked them, but the 10 marked "Elements we like" are all in the running right now. See previous comments.

Among the new ones, #69 is cool because it almost suggests both puzzle pieces and people coming together.

Nice work everyone! I'll check back in 24 hours or so.

We really feel like this process is going to give us exactly what we want. Thanks for your efforts so far, and we especially appreciate the changes you folks have been making.

We've unranked and just noted the contenders as "Elements we Like". Too hard to put them in an order right now.

Some thoughts:

#31, #33, and #56: We like the image concept of pieces coming together or people coming together. Variation of #56 is nice because the pieces look like not quite together yet - suggests the work we need to do and a notion of motion.

#56: colors and fonts there are not as interesting as some of the others.

#45 is a good update on its former version, but colors might be a little bright for us

#46: Will vertical bar and "MLS" disappear if used against a black background?

I'll check back again in about 24 hours! Thanks!

Once again, I'm impressed by the variety and quality here! Thanks to all of you - not even 24 hours.

#42 and #41 : How would it look to left-align the text? Maybe that third lines sticks out to far - I'm not sure. The trough of white space between vertical bar and text is not very pleasing.

The chaos-to-order concept in #6 is interesting - is there a way to strengthen that concept some?

There are lots of good things here. Thanks for the entries so far. Here are some thoughts:

#31 and #33 capture the idea of working together or bringing pieces together and the colors are good.

#4 is good in that it brings forward the acronym for the project (EMMS) and the meaning of the acronym - we also like the orientation: logo to the left and text to the right. It makes a more compact image than #31 and #33. />
It turns out that the ones that emphasize the project service name and acronym (EMMS), rather than the "MLS" element, are more attractive to us. We didn't expect that originally; so you should probably ignore our comment in the contest brief on that point.

We think that the logo advice on the RPR blog by Neil Pinchin is pretty helpful, and we'll likely use it to evaluate the entries: http://blog.narrpr.com/product/does-it-come-in-green
